The $24 million artificial surf lagoon, Urbn Surf, has been approved by the NSW Department of Planning and Environment, and is set to be a great new facility for Sydney Olympic Park and it’s residents.
Situated in a section of a car park, it will feature a surf lagoon with man-made waves created by Spanish Wavegarden technology. A retail store, dining facilities and a surf school will all be located in the one- to two-storey building that will accompany the surf lagoon. The 3.2 hectare site will also comprise of a toddler pool, adventure playground, and climbing wall amongst other recreational amenities.
The developer, Wave Park Group is expected to commence construction in the second half of 2018.
